Inspired by Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, or Underland as he deems it in his movie. Filled with dark red's, blue's, green's, and traditional black's and white's. Some elements and background papers are directly inspired by the movie (for example the bright blue butterfly and the felt red background with black hearts). Burton's movie is a bit on the dark side and not so light and airy like the original cartoon movie. Full Size, 300 dpi. Includes 12 backgrounds (7 patterned and 5 solid) and 18 elements, including:

Man, I havent done a real layout in so long. I've been spending all of my free time (which isnt much since I'm working full time) designing and I swear the last page I scrapped was probably back in February. Anyway, Royanna put up a free template at Divine Digital for her Sketch challenge. Usually I have a hard time visualizing a template to be anything more than a gray page, but I just loved the layout she did with it that I had to try it with my own kit. It took me about an hour to put it together and VOILA, done!

And, of course, this layout uses my new kit Fall Whimsy:

Boy, it feels like a long time since I've been able to post. I started my full time job and have had no time for digital scrapping :( But I received a new kit this week from Rachael and was able to whip together a 2 page layout.

The new kit is called Today and can be found at Inspired Scraps. It is supposed to be a masculine kit for all those boys and men pages, but I found the colors perfect for my travel pages! One of the background papers is actually from the Today Extra Paper pack, which is free right now if you buy the page kit! Get them both today for only $1.99!

Journaling Reads:
We went to Glastonbury Abbey where King Arthur and his Queen Guinevere are supposedly buried. This is the oldest church in all of England and there are only ruins left because of a fire in 1190 AD that destroyed most of it. Next, we walked up Chalice Hill to Saint Michael’s Tor to see the Tower and the amazing view of the countryside. It was a steep and muddy climb but it was well worth it. The tower is rich in legends, ancient rituals and pilgrimage. Some people even believe the Holy Grail is buried beneath the Tower.

New Kit and a Freebie

I decided that I need to stop looking at my Disney pictures from 2 and a half years ago and get them scrapped since I'm having a little "Scrappers' Block" with my Europe album. But, since I don't really have any supplies that would go well with Disney pages, I needed to make some. I created this kit (which by the way, is WAY bigger than any kit I've ever made) for those traditional Mickey and Minnie pages. I also came to the conclusion that there may be several other follow up kits needed to complete my Disney album since not everything is "traditional Mickey or Minnie". My next kit will probably be more "girly" for all those Princess and Tinker Bell pages. (And then maybe a more earthy, natural kit for Animal Kingdom. And a bright blue ocean kit for SeaWorld. And a bright zoo kit for Gatorland. Oh boy, I have my work cut out for me!)

Here is my new kit:
It has 12 background papers (7 patterned and 5 solid) and 18 elements.

Did you notice my new "logo"? I think I finally found a "design name" for all of my kits instead of using my whole name. It's a combination of my first and last names, but also sounds like my nickname from when I was little. AnDi Designs. Andrea DiTonno. a.k.a. Andy before I was in Middle School.

DET Contest

I entered a digital scrapbooking contest. Partially for the free kit, partially for the experience and partially just to see how far I could get. I made it to Round 2 (out of 4) which is good, I guess. But, I can only blame myself for not making it farther. When uploading the image to the contest site, I forgot to put in a required keyword and went back to edit the post, which is not allowed. So, by forgetting to do that keyword, I basically disqualified myself. And, I truly believe my layout in Round 2 was as good as, if not better than, several of those that passed through to Round 3. Anyway, here are the layouts I did for the contest.

Winning the contest would have meant a lot of free scrapbooking kits for me. My "job" would be to scrap layouts using those kits. I'm not that upset about not "winning" the contest because I had already decided I didnt want it. That wasnt the point of entering the contest. To be on this team of I wouldnt be able to be on any other teams...and I really enjoy being on a team for Terry and Rachael. (See my other layouts) And now, I'm going to look for one more designer to be on their team.

Her brand new kit (released today) is called Spring's Song and is full of beautiful spring colors. This kit is huge!!! So many backgrounds and elements; I will be able to make so many layouts using just this kit!

I made 2 layouts with this kit, 1 for Spring and another just to show the versatility of the kit.

Hey gals! So last week when I came home from my long weekend in the woods of Maine (although snow-covered) I was totally inspired to make a kit to go along with the pictures of the log cabin we stayed at. So...here is my kit. But, I really need some constructive criticism on it from all you scrapbooking people. Please, please, please leave me some feedback or suggestions on this kit. Do you like it? Not like it? Does it need something? Get rid of something? Do the elements look real? etc.

I know I'm jumping trips here, but I had to find the right pictures to go along with this kit. So, here is my next layout using Tim's diving pictures from Honduras when we went on our cruise 2 years ago.

This kit was made with TJStone's Shabby Seashore kit. I may have to make another layout with this kit because there were some other really cool elements to this kit that I wanted to use, but just couldn't make it work with this layout.

Well, I'm home from my mini-vacation in the deep woods of Maine (Oooh, that gives me an idea for my next kit!) and I didn't get a lot of scrapbooking done while I was there...which is a good thing because that means I had fun and wasnt bored.

Journaling reads: When Mollie found out she was getting a baby sister, she knew she would have someone to play with, but I dont think she expected to fall in love with her. Mollie constantly showers Sophia with hugs and kisses, plays with her if she’s awake and tries to teach her big-girl things like walking and talking.

This layout of Loch Lomond, Scotland uses TJStone's kit Hodge Podge.

Terry sent me a brand new kit of hers that is not yet for sale that I cant wait to work on. It is a very pretty pink and green Valentine kit. Maybe I will have some perfect pictures from Valentine's Day this weekend to use with the kit....Oh, yes, right...reality. Ok, maybe not. I'm sure I can find some baby pictures from the girls to use. So, this woman I met from Digitalscrapbookplace.com has asked me to be part of her personal Creative Team. That means that she designs a kit, sends the kit to me (for free) and I make a scrapbook layout out of it. I then post the layout at a few sites mentioning that I used her kit (sort of the digi scrappin' form of advertisement).

Journaling Reads: I got Tim 6 Godiva chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine’s Day. Each strawberry was so big, it took up the whole palm of my hand. We held it up to Mollie’s head for a size comparison; It was about half the size of her head. Tim enjoyed them (he loves Godiva and strawberries, put them together and it’s better than...) and eventually he shared one with Mollie. She sat and watched with a sad puppy dog face while he enjoyed the first 5!

Europe Album

So, after 8 years I'm finally working on my Scrapbook for my trip to Europe. I have already posted some of the pages I've done on my myspace page and then find my Europe Photo Album. I will eventually add all those photos here too as soon as I figure out how to get the slideshow working. Anyway, here are some new pages not yet posted...

The London Eye:

Journaling Reads: One of the first things I did in London was go see the London Eye. It is an enormous ferris wheel (observation wheel, as they like to call it) that was built for the “New Millenium” in early 2000. Each capsule holds probably a dozen people with windows surrounding all sides. The night we went, it was raining off and on and a beatiful rainbow lit up the sky. Because of the clouds, our views of the city weren’t great, but we still had a good time.

Palace of Versailles (Paris):
Journaling Reads: The Palace of Versailles was somewhere I dreamed of going ever since my Art History class at Merrimack where I learned about the magnificent Hall of Mirrors. The room was built for King Louis XIV as a sun room with a lot of windows and mirrors to reflect all incoming light. In person, it was as bright as described in the text books. It was everything I expected it to be. The hall was furnished with elaborate paintings on the wall and ceiling, glass chandeliers and gold trim on everything. Of course, my camera stopped working so I didn’t get too many pictures. The Palace was one of the best castles I visited during this trip to Europe. The rooms were all richly decorated. The gardens were meticulous and beautiful. The whole place was absolutely breathtaking! The whole group (50 of us) posed for a picture in front of the Palace and I did get a picture of myself and Lisa Harrington in the Hall of Mirrors.

Journaling reads: Ever since you learned about jobs in Miss Alicia’s pre-school class last spring you’ve been very undecided about what you want to be when you grow up. Somedays you say you want to be a teacher and other days you say you want to be a doctor, but one thing stays true, you always want to be a mom too. I think it is so cute how you believe being a mom is a career choice.

Journaling Reads: This is a story about a baby girl named Sophia, who is 6 months old. She can do things that not many 6 month old babies can do! She has held her own head up since she was 2 weeks old. She has already been on a vacation! She went to Las Vegas with her Mommy, Daddy and big Sister Mollie, for Suzanne’s wedding in May when she was only 8 weeks old. She started sleeping through the night at 9 weeks old. She began eating cereal at 3 months old and baby food at 4 months old. She has a great appetite and loves all the foods given to her. Her Nana Tonno likes to say, “She would eat a steak if she had teeth.” She is an amazing little baby with a “Go get ’em” attitude. Ever since she was a few months old, her whole family could see a look of determination in her eyes; determination to Get Up and Go! She really wants to chase her big sister around the house. She loves to stand (with help, of course). She would much rather stand than sit. She can sit up on her own, but she rarely wants to. She flops around the living room floor going from her back to her belly and then back again. She can shimmy all over the place. Just days before her half birthday, she figured out how to get her knees under her bum and can sit in the crawling position. She gets so frustrated when she sees toys in front of her that she just simply can not reach. Toys on either side of her or behind her are no problem, because she can move in those directions. Just not forwards. She is growing up so fast. Her first tooth started came in on this half birthday. Her Nana Tonno found it when she bit down on her finger really hard! She can even hold up her own bottle! She is a sweet baby that hardly ever fusses (unless she is hungry). She is happy all of the time and smiles at every perfect stranger who will look at her and give her a tiny bit of attention. She is ticklish and can giggle like a child. She laughs hysterically when Mollie makes silly faces at her. She is precious. She is loved.

I'm working on my next Scrapbooking kit, called "Smitten for You". It should be focused on love and romance and I'm having a hard time coming up with elements (ie. buttons, brads, stickers, ribbons, frames, etc) to put in this kit! Here is the color scheme I'm working with:

Ok, this is easy enough. Here is a recent layout I made that I just love! It is made with RobertaT's SNL46 kit.

Journaling Reads: Show me a 4-year-old girl that knows to hold up her dress when walking down the stairs. Or one that needs help walking down the aisle because she is taking too long placing each individual flower petal in an exact location to look good. Or a flower girl that gets introduced WITH the Best Man and then gets to hold the Bride’s flowers while she takes her first dance with her new husband. Needless to say, Mollie is now a trained Professional Flower Girl...and a true DIVA!

Journaling Reads: It all started when Momma had plans one Saturday night. What could Bubba and Mollie possibly do at home that night? "We'll have a date of our own" says Bubba. We pick a movie (new or old), make some popcorn and cuddle up on the couch. Sometimes we even fall asleep! It is our new family tradition that we look forward to all week long.
